Roadtrip Phonetography - Lousiville, KY
I was driving through Kentucky during the historic rainfall and flooding of early April. I was driving through Louisville specifically to visit Mia Zapata’s grave. The Cave Hill Cemetery was closed because of flooding, but the workers casually clocked my license plate, asked me where the grave was, and since it was in a section that was not flooding, they let me in! They drove me parade style to the grave section, found it for me, and then said to take my time, but uh, not too much, and to go straight out when I was done visiting - no visits to Muhammad Ali or anyone else. I agreed, of course.
No sign of other visitors, but it was day 3 of heavy rain. The gravestone says Cherished Daughter - Sister - Artist - Friend - Git
I pulled out the phone, played a couple Gits songs, and then left. There was a great bakery nearby with good coffee and a post office across the street. I left town as the storm was starting up again. I crossed the river into Indiana, and was in St Louis by nightfall.
