Stuff to do: Beyond the Noise: Media That's Moving Portland
Join City Club of Portland, Open Signal, and Kickstand Comedy for an afternoon with local journalists and independent media makers—from storytellers and filmmakers to podcasters—who are shaping how we understand our city. Across two panels, "Making the News" and "Sharing the Meaning," you’ll learn how these creators work independently and collaboratively, across formal and grassroots settings, to amplify community voices.
$10+
The event will include time to grab a drink and a bite, meet and network with panelists and your fellow attendees, and see what you can access by plugging into the communities at Open Signal, City Club, and Kickstand: training, equipment, supportive networks, and opportunities to create and share public media that lifts up underrepresented Portlanders. You'll also come away with some fresh media recs!
